Fatti maschii, parole femine A compilation video of Jess training with kettlebells. As for the name of the video, when I typed the word "femine" into Websters online dictionary, the phrase "fatti maschii, parole femine" came up which means "manly deeds, womanly words". This also happens to be the motto of Maryland. I thought it was fitting.
Graduation My graduation workout less than an hour after I walked across the stage. I figured I might as well get some more use out of the garb since my cap & gown from high school sat in my closet until I threw it away 8 years later.
Anne Arundel Highland Games 2005 My first Highland Games comp. Good times, good people. I placed first in the B-Class surviving on strength alone. The monsoon that decended on us that day actually played to my advantage, eliminating two of the more highly skilled events - the caber and the shef toss. Had those two events been included, the tables would have been turned no doubt.
Back to the Basics Gym Typical workout at the local studio. Still not sure what common "gym folk" think of us, don't care either, but their reactions are usually quite entertaining.
Bending Steel! Not your typical workout but scrolling 20ft of 3/8" cold rolled steel is nothing short of BRUTAL! This video was sped up 3x and cut to pieces. It took close to 15 minutes of non-stop effort to bend the entire length... and Luke is bending far bigger steel now!
Highland Games training One week before my first Highland Games competition, I had my first formal training session. This is what took place.
Keg Toss Originally recorded with some event training, this clip came to be just because we were out having some fun, playing with an empty keg... and no, we did not "empty it" prior to recording :)
